Police investigate a suspicious device found on the street in Long Beach on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the goods were found shortly before 3.30 pm.

On the 2nd Street Bridge, near the 6400 block of Marina Drive in the Belmont Shore neighborhood.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's bomb squad was called to the scene to assist with the investigation.

Second Street from Naples Plaza to Pacific Coast Highway was closed to the public

Both drivers and pedestrians were urged to avoid the area.

Around 6pm LBPD said the device has been rendered

And all roads have been reopened.

The nature of the device was still not known.
